Toulouse felt today like the warm and sunny place I had heard about, and it came at a great time - Bastille Day. After spending some leisurely time on the banks of the Garonne River with the whole group, we continued exploring the area near the Place des Capitoles and celebrated Tobi's birthday with ice cream for everyone at a favorite local establishment. Among the interesting flavors - rose and rhubarb, poppy, apple crumble, and spiced caramel.
The highlight of the day was definitely the fireworks spectacle, also along the banks of the Garonne. The small video on the Phanfare album doesn't do it justice, but, hopefully, you'll be able to appreciate the beauty of the show whose theme was Toulouse: European Cultural Capitol for 2013. The fireworks were accompanied by the music from different European nations.
